Cocoa has become one of the highest quality products in Peru as well as coffee; it has contributed to the sum of values ​​within the premium quality chocolate factories. It also has a high amount of benefits.

Among the benefits of cocoa we have the high index of protein, magnesium, phosphorus, potassium, theobromine, caffeine, antioxidants and water, among others. In relation to health we can highlight the following:

– Provides energy, cocoa contains a healthy amount of caffeine. This helps boost energy and fight fatigue.

– Cocoa is one of the richest sources of polyphenols which have significant health benefits, including reduced inflammation and improved cholesterol levels.

– They favor the production of endorphins, helping to improve mood by fighting physical or mental stress.

Where can we find cocoa?

The main cocoa producing areas in Peru are the Valley of the Convención, in the Department of Cusco; the Valley of the Apurimac River, in the Departments of Ayacucho, Cusco and Junín; the Huallaga Valley, in the Departments of Huánuco and San Martín; the Valley of Tambo, in the Department of Junín; and the Marañón Valley, in the Departments of Cajamarca and Amazonas.
